Hi! My name is Andrea and I love the water – pool or beach it doesn’t matter. It’s my happy place and has been my whole life. I have a lifetime of experience in the water as a competitive swimmer, teacher, lifeguard and coach.
I love teaching children how to swim and I wanted to be able to teach babies and toddlers these life saving skills too. This led me to travel to Longmont, CO with my family to certify as an Infant Aquatics® instructor. I completed an intensive hands-on six week training under the guidance of Judy Heumann, the creator/founder of the Infant Aquatics Survival® program.
The experience solidified my commitment to the swim-float-swim technique, which I firmly believe is crucial in teaching children ages 6 months to 6 years old to be able to self-rescue. It is my mission to bring this important skill to my community, where backyard pools and water sports are common. I believe strongly that learning water safety skills as early as possible is key to preventing accidents and creating a healthy respect for the water.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is not just teaching swimming skills, but also instilling a love of the water in my students. Every child should experience the joy and freedom that comes with being able to swim. I aim to ensure that every child can enjoy the water safely and confidently.
